Hi, I'm just starting to get into BESM. It's my first time doing any sort of RPG, so I still don't really know what's what, but I've been reading loads of guides on the Internet to help me out. I'm GMing a game with a bunch of friends (also first time players). We haven't done a game yet because the details are still being worked out.

I was wondering if anyone could help me, maybe give me some advice on how we should make characters and how we should actually run the game. I'd like to use some nice 25mm figures and floorplans too, anyone know a good site for them?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

floor plans are best if you make your own, and as for character creation advice, it depends on what type of a setting your going to do, like i am in the process of working on a galerians style game. if you have any questions or anything just drop me a line, i would be happy to help

Thanks for the help! You guys are very friendly. I suppose I will have to make the floorplans myself. But I've been bothering with them such much lately I think I may just forget some it and do a few nice, simple games without loads of props and stuff.

I tried character creation again after looking for a few tips and made up 25 point version of the three main characters from Bubblegum Crisis 2040! (I've only seen the first three volumes myself but I took a lot of advice from my friend who's a big Bubblegum Crisis fan).

Something I found that really helped for floorplans is a battlemate. You can use a wet erase mark to draw up a quick floor plan that your players can up their models on and you can add details as you see fit. It's really helpful and can speed things along allot.

Well there's an old book titled "StarWars Miniture Battles" (or something close to that)has loads of great idea's and tips on how to make props for miniture battlefields and too keep the scale with the world around them. You can search for books like that and import them as ideas and guides for upcomming games. And most importaintly is to KISS "Keep It Simply Stupid" and fun.

Oh and the best way to learn being a GM/DM is to ask the players after what parts that they liked and what sucked about your style of GMing.
