09:42 am - Just a few questions

Hello to all, I am starting a campaign with a group of friends and I am trying to find a place to buy the 2nd edition BESM books for a good price, or even get the pdf format which might work better, if any one has a good idea as to where to look that would be great.

Also is there a way to change a d20 character into a tri-stat system character? If so knowing how would be nice. Thanks

This is how I'd do it.

1. Note skills, attributes and defects.
2. Find Tristat equivalents. Write these down. Most Attributes and Defects map reasonably close. Skills you'll probably have to eyeball. Say maybe one level of Tristat skills for every four levels of BESM skills. Add Highly Skilled when appropriate to make the numbers add right. When in doubt, use the descriptions.
3. Note your Stats. You can go by the descriptions of the various numbers to match (I think GoO used the same ones in both books) -- for example a 10-11 d20 maps to a 4 in BESM (both are human average). Intelligence goes to Mind, and you can either use an average of your Physical stats or just Dexterity to get Body, and an average of Wisdom and Charisma to get Soul.
4. Tweak when needed to make the concepts match and/or to set the points right. You may need to tweak a lot.

There's no real one to one conversion, but this should get at least part of the way there.
